Our slightly-delayed-by-the-holiday version of the newsletter contains TWO new news directors, one a first time ND in the number one market. And we have FOUR new openings as our list of open ND jobs jumps to 37.

WPIX-TV, New York, NY…Monday’s UPDATE brought you first news of NICOLE TINDIGLIA’s appointment as news director for the Nexstar owned CW affiliate. Here’s the release. Since 2013, she’s been the Assistant ND for WCBS-TV in New York, where she’s worked since 1998. She’s the second Tindiglia to run an NYC newsroom: her late father RON TINDIGLIA was the ND at WABC-TV and later VP of News for the CBS owned stations and station manager at WCBS.

WDKY-TV, Lexington, KY…MARK GLOVER has been tasked with starting a news department for this Nexstar owned FOX affiliate. He’s currently the Assistant ND for WBRC-TV in Birmingham. ND SHANNON ISBELL sent this note. (She’s also searching for his replacement, as you’ll see in the paid ad below.) He’s a former ND for WEHT-TV in Evansville and spent four years as an executive producer for WISH-TV here in Indianapolis.

WFOX/WJAX-TV, Jacksonville, FL…PASCALE HEAD is stepping down after three years as ND and 13 years working for this Cox Media Group owned FOX/CBS duopoly. She was the Managing Editor and Senior Executive Producer before her promotion, and earlier worked for another Jacksonville station.

WTKR-TV, Norfolk, VA…ERIC OLSEN has left this Scripps owned CBS affiliate after 2 1/2 years as news director. He’s a former ND in New Bern, NC, but before that was as EP for Tribune’s WGHP-TV in Greensboro. Eric’s been an EP in Boston and Toledo, worked in Louisville, Dayton, and Peoria, and began his career as a photographer in Decatur.
WFFF/WVNY-TV, Burlington, VT…this Nexstar owned duopoly (FOX/ABC) is looking for a new news director. BOB ROCKSTROH is leaving. He’s been the ND here since 2018, when he transferred from Nexstar sister station WETM-TV in Elmira, NY. Bob’s a former ND in Providence, Hartford, and Ft. Wayne and has worked in New York, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and San Diego.

KRIS-TV, Corpus Christi, TX…MARK SILBERSTEIN has left this Scripps owned NBC affiliate after about nine months. His title, as his successor’s will be, was Senior Director of Local News Content (i.e. ND with many more letters on the business card.) Mark’s a former ND in Elmira, and has worked in Boston, Cleveland, Saginaw, Shreveport, Providence, Wichita, and Lansing.

Just one GM move to report this week…and that comes from Colorado Springs, where ROSS WHITE has been promoted at Scripps’ KOAA-TV (NBC). He’s been the sales manager there since 2016 and replaces EVAN PAPPAS who was promoted to GM for Scripps’ WFTX-TV (also FOX) in Ft. Myers, FL. More on Ross and his background in the news release.
